Excellent

Everything worked out perfectly. It's a lot of fun, and the voice acting was simply superb. I half expected the usual. "2" "colors are in the right spot, and" "1" "color is in the wrong spot."

Also, whenever Mastermind said he would destroy my mother, I always lost. It sucked.

Lastly, how are people saying this is easy? That's BS, this game is ridiculously hard. Every time I think I have a piece in the correct spot, I keep it there, only to find out at the end that the color in the spot doesn't even exist. I suck at this, but I can't figure out how anyone thinks it's easy.

Also, the music at the desperate part is fantastic, other than the repeat. The repeat is really obvious.

Step on a crack, break your mother's back. I dunno, you reminded me of that.

The people who think it's easy have played it before, or consider winning on the 9th round to be as good as a win on the 4th ;) Also, some people go online to find the "winning algorithm" that lets you beat Mastermind every time by the 5th turn, which is of course tantamount to cheating, and no different than going online to find a Godmode cheat for any other game and then bragging about how the won.

Don't worry, if the game weren't a challenge then there would be no point, right?

Excellent

I love stereoscopic images, and I love moving ones especially. I'm glad I found this, although it's rather limited.

Good, but...

It's important that things have time and balance working together. Many times I'd create a huge armada, and a new age would dawn before my armada could get to their base. I played on Easy, so I don't have room for much else to say, but certain things like that need to be worked out. I'm glad that both players moved up in Ages at the same time. I played another Defense game, and when I was still figuring out how everything worked, fighting off enemy advancements, they went up an Age, leaving me behind. As the game went on, I was perpetually one age behind them, with no way to catch up, always on the losing side. I'm glad this game doesn't have that problem.

AWESOME PLOT

I've always been a HUGE fan of the Half-Life expansion packs, because they helped you realize how much of a story was being told. The parallel plots here make me REALLY happy.

However, the lack of bosses is EXTREMELY disappointing. Disappointing as in "oh my God what the hell were you thinking" disappointing. Bosses break up the normal action with new rules and challenges, and are always a blessing. In Indestruc2Tank, I loved the bosses, even if some of them were rather annoying at times (making a boss challenging is a lot different from making it cheap, and the latter happened occasionally).

Anyway, this was great. I don't like the wind messing up the camera; I think you could have added more challenge in a far better way. However, I'm sure there are those who love the shaky camera as added difficulty. However, the helicopter carrying the tombstone for the grave was cheesy in a not-good way.

All in all, I want to give this a 10, I really really do. However, the lack of bosses hurts too much. So much could have been done with them. So, I have to give you the score of a 9 with my sincerest apologies.

Still completely impossible.

The second the Goliaths come into play, it's over. I thought the casual mode would make it so they wouldn't come in and start raping your base from the get-go, but I was wrong. None of your weapons can kill them well, your defenses can't kill them well, and they end you pretty quick.

Normally I'd say nice job for the graphics and all that, but I'm sure you'll agree that you don't deserve THAT much in that category, seeing as it's all ripped, with the exception of the special particle effects, like the ball of energy from the spore colony, and the HUD.

The fact that you would design a game that's completely impossible is mind-boggling. Your weapons, defenses, etc. CANNOT END GOLIATHS AT ALL. I managed to kill, oh, 5. By that point, though, you're sitting, waiting for your energy to recharge, with your sunken colony obliterated. your spore colony unable to hit anything that's close enough to shoot you, and your health being halfway to 0 anyway.

Wow, that's impossible.

You're getting a seven because of the excellent graphics, sound, design, gameplay, etc.

You lose three points, however, because of the impossibility factor. "Rapid" attacks are painfully slow, and while I respect that the game doesn't want you to button-mash the left click to go about, the fact that the dogs hit you 3 times on normal mode before killing one of them makes it absolutely impossible. I tried jumping strikes, I tried timing my clicks, and I tried rapidly clicking as fast as I could. The jumping attack isn't worth it (at least on the dogs, anyway), I've already stated that the "rapid" attack is about as slow as it gets, and mashing the "kick" seems like a bad idea.

While I respect that this may be made for better gamers, the fact you can't ease yourself into it at ALL weakens it a LOT.

Excellent with a single, glaring flaw

The idea is new, as far as I know. It's executed well, it's fun, it has challenge, the list goes on. I like how the volume of the sound effect changes depending upon how hard you hit the ball.

However, the fact that you decided to make it so you start all the way at the beginning if you die is really, really annoying. You used a save system to make it so you can come back to it if you left, but if you cared that much about letting people continue, why limit the save system in such a way?

As a Jew, you do not understand how much this game pleases me. Not only that, but it's such a simple game! Instead of placing turrets everywhere and carefully managing money, everything is easy, allowing you to play the way you want to. Strategy games are good; I love defense games, but it's so much fun to just relax and have a little fun once in awhile. Several unique and progressively difficult enemies, weapons that allow for totally different play styles, this is the best game I didn't know I needed to play. Thank you, sir. Thank you SO very much!

Unreasonably difficult

Excellent game, superb animation, etc. etc. etc.

However, there's a HUGE bug, and that's that you don't level up with any speed. The Goliaths came in, and all I had were 3 sunken colonies. The Goliaths tore my colonies to shreds, and my hive was still at level 1, which meant I only had the single-target attack. There was nothing I could do; no upgrades to employ, etc.

That's a huge problem, and there's no real way around it I can see. 4/5 and 7/10, but the balance needs work.

Where are the weapons?

I think the survival knife should only be needed if you made some colossal mistake, or if you're just bad with ammo conservation. I ended up being forced to use the knife a LOT, even though the shots I missed were few and far between. Also, I'd LIKE to use the grenade launcher as a last resort or only in special circumstances, but that's the only ammo you give me. Also, when those massive meaty guys come in, they shouldn't be alive after 3 grenade hits, considering that everything else is dead after ONE hit.

At the end I was using the knife to fight off two dogs and one of the aforementioned meaty guys, then more came in from other directions and I died. I think I'd describe the difficulty curve as pretty steep, before running smack into a brick wall. You shouldn't introduce enemies that can take more than 3 grenade hits before dying right after hordes of enemies that all die with one.

Great concept and nice artwork, but several things like the stuff mentioned above limit it from achieving the greatness it has the potential for. 6/10
